I Introduction:
Why is it important for health and wellness professionals to develop psychologically, spiritually and physically? What areas do you need to develop to achieve the goals you have for yourself?
It is essential that wellness professionals develop psychologically for numerous reasons. One very important reason is that wellness professionals need to have the knowledge and capabilities to guide their patients on their journey to wellness. If the wellness professionals are confident and comfortable with themselves and their work the patient will feel more at ease.
II Assessment:
How have you assessed your health in each domain? How do you score your wellness spiritually, physically, and psychologically?
Spiritual development is also important for wellness professionals to have spiritual maturity because it helps one to deal better with people; especially when they practice loving-kindness living. Forgiveness is an important aspect of spirituality that lowers one’s stress level and stress related illnesses at work and with the rest of their life. The most important spiritual benefit in my life and work is my faith that God is guiding me through life.
III Goal development:
List at least one goal you have for yourself in each area, Physical, Psychological (mental health) and Spiritual.
Physical fitness is important because your body needs to be able to handle the physical demands of your work. I myself believe that I need more development in all three areas; before I’m able to help people in need to wellness care on the level I want to be able to help them. I want my patients to benefit from my knowledge about living life; by offering them excellent advice and strategies that will promote my patients quality of life spiritually, mentality and psychically. In order to for me to obtain this goal, I believe I have to develop to a higher level in my knowledge both psychologically and spiritually.
Of the three wellness categories, I feel my spiritual well being is that most advanced area in my life. I feel mentally I have come a along way in the last past few years, but there is still improvement for me to learn and experience. In this area, I believe the most difficult stages to my development is dealing with the past. I believe my psychical is developing at a quicker pace than my mental spiritual development.
IV Practices for personal health:
What strategies can you implement to foster growth in each of the following domains; Physical, Psychological, and Spiritual. Provide at least two examples of exercises or practices in each domain. Explain how you will implement each example.
One way I plan to help my mental development is to enhance my environment with people. I will do this by participating with society on a deeper level including attending church. Another aspect of my psychical development is that I’m naturally given. I need to practice not letting other take advantage of my kindness; by realizing I have to deal with people according to the seeds they sow in my life. If they sow negative seeds I have to get them out of my life. I know this sounds selfish, but I have to start looking out for my own interest.
V Commitment:
How will you assess your progress or lack of progress in the next six months? What strategies can you use to assist in maintaining your long-term practices for health and wellness?
I have already started increasing my psychical health by joining a work-out center. Spiritually I’m going to develop better meditation skills as well as attending church.
To measure my level of progress over the next six months I’m going to develop a chart with my best friend regarding how both of us individually rate me spiritually, physically and mentally. We will both rate me on the same chart in six months. The chart will be broken into different aspects of all three wellness factors.

Hello Dee thanks for your encouraging comments. I wrot that we all are going somewhere and it's nice to know where and not just travel in a daze. I also would like to thumbs up you on joining your fitness club. One thing I have learned "You have got to love yourself." when I take care of my body I am taking care of what Christ lives in when he is on earth. Loving me is the 1st line of defense. It brings forgiving , peace, joy and covers a multitude of sins. Great idea on how you will keep up with your progess. thank you for you
